@Mohan As of right now you can't do that. With some browsers you will have an icon appear right next to the text box which you can then touch and then type. Stay tuned for a few videos on the way regarding on-screen keyboards.
Thanks Jesse. When I first upgraded to windows 7 home premium, I was getting a keyboard on the right side of the screen (hidden). when I tap, it comes alive. I did some optimization with Ashampoo win optimizer. After that the keyboard is not coming. I have to manually go to '--programs--accessory--ease of access--on-screen keyboard' to open the keyboard. However, this is a different keyboard. Please let me know, how do I reinstate the earlier keyboard. Thanks So much
Hi, I love your blog and visit quite often for my Lenovo s10-3t. I run ModYouri.com and was looking for a keyboard solution with something similar to the iPad onscreen keyboard. I ended up using Hot Virtual Keyboard and made a custom keyboard with large enough keys to type, like the iPad. My review and download of the custom keyboard can be found at my site: http://www.modyouri.com/windows/9890-hot-virtual-keyboard-lenovo-s10-3t-win7-review.html
@Marcus I can't help you with the Quick Start program. I used it a few times and it wasn't what I wanted so I removed it completely. I think Quick Start (Splashtop) probably doesn't come with a virtual keyboard. You can check it out at http://www.splashtop.com/ Maybe you can get in contact with a developer and suggest a virtual keyboard.
hello jesse, i know this is not the place to ask this question but i just want to ask how to use the handwriting recognition to input asian language characters specifically chinese? i am using windows 7 home premium i just want to use it in an english windows 7 home premium display but can input chinese characters in tablet pc input? thanks
i started to use the older onscreen keyboard that also comes with windows 7, mainly because it makes the click noise, so makes it more easy to type on screen to use you will need to, go to start / control panel, tap on ease of access, then tap on ease of access center, now tap start on screen keyboard
the click noice is enabled by default, you can also pin it to the task bar
also my mate got is toshiba and this is the keyboard package that is shipped with it, it a single package which has the keyboard package, onscreen mouse pad and onscreen piano, which i have to admit is one of the best onscreen piano app out at the moment, you can download from here http://www.mediafire.com/?c4xtekha8uzc5s5
Maybe. There would need to be a program that keeps track of the screen mode and when the rotation happens then it launches the program. Lenovo Natural Touch has that capability of launching when you enter tablet mode.
Maybe through google we can find a tool to do that, but I don't know of any right now.

ReplyDeletehow to make lenovo s10-3t automatically launch on-screen keyboard, while pointing to search field in the browser, or web address or any input field?

ReplyDeleteHit your Windows key and type TabTip.exe The program should come up. Now click Tools and enable "Use the Input Panel Tab"
You can assign where you want to show the tab on the bottom settings. Hit Apply and then OK and you should be good to go.

A search of virtual keyboards lead me to this site: http://www.touch-base.com/documentation/Virtual%20Keyboards.htm#_Windows
ReplyDeleteIt lists a number if virtual keyboards.
While there, note what appears to be a free version of Hot Virtual Keyboard.

ReplyDeleteNeat stuff man. Thanks for sharing.
Is it possible to activate the virtual keyboard automatically when we go to Tablet mode?
