hey dude do you have any idea that how long should a s10-3t works on a single charge? my s10-3t comes with a 4-cell battery pack and works at last 2-2.5 hours with a full chqrged battery.(with CPU set at auto, wireless off, and monitor brightness at level 2
I haven't tested battery life but I might check it out. I have the 8 cell battery model ( the one here - http://bit.ly/a8Ko9x ) and it can go for many hours. I will eventually do a comparison with an Acer Aspire One that has a 9 cell battery and post it on this site.
wow thank you for your respond. i've read in lenovo forum that 8 cell models works for about 8 hours while all wireless functions turned on. can we say that a 4 cell model should work for half of that duration? (you know this is my first laptop and i know nothing about these things)
8 cell batteries don't mean that the system will last 8 hours. Battery life depends on how much you are pushing the system. If you are watching a movie it requires lot's more power than maybe reading a PDF file or writing with notepad. Screen brightness does affect how many hours you can get out of your system so don't have it so bright.
I am a new owner of S10 3 t, your information are very very useful . Hope that you will carry on the test about the laptop so I can earn the knowledge from you .Thanks for your kindness.Forgive my poor English !
@edwin Thanks. A lot of information on this website can be applied to other laptops/netbooks. So if you have other systems you can make them speedy too.
I have seen there was a software "Lenovo maplife " in web site http://www.eprice.com.hk/nb/talk/?prod_id=837&tid=938 , do your s10 3-t with such software ?
@Anonymous Yes you won't get exactly 8 hours of battery life out of the S10-3T with the 8 cell battery. I'm averaging about 6 hours with wifi on, screen dimmed down and the CPU on performance. I do have an SSD and I have heard mixed reviews of whether that improves or decreases battery life. I now have a tv tuner and not sure how much that will affect my battery life.
If you put the CPU on the lowest setting you might get more than 8 hours, but the usability is horrible.
Have read comments about underwhelming battery life. Maybe I'm lucky but I get a solid 10 hours with the 8 cell battery! That's with the CPU set high, running Citrix-based application at work over VPN for 8 straight hours without sleep. Pretty satisfied with device (N455, 2G RAM, 320G HDD).

You have the N455 which offers better power efficiency. It should give you more battery life.
