  3. I was about to reply in their forum, but i don't understand the registration question. Anyway, what i want to ask was, should i update the bios to version 25? if not, where can i get version 20?
    Thanks in advance

  4. Why you should update to 25? Well it has fixes of several issues. If you have unsuported cards (3G, Crystal HD, other pci-e devices) you can still do bios whitelist hacking. It might be a bit different on the exact location to modify the hex values but the process is the same.

  5. I have just acquired a MC8775, Sierra Wireless card. I understand the process but hesitate to do any bios modding as Id hate to tell my company I fried a new netbook. Is there anywhere I can download a known working bios with the card I have? Even a more detailed step bu step possibly?

  6. I purchased the Sierra Wireless MC8775 and read both the links you offer here. What the heck? I get that I need to edit the BIOS but what are the steps for that? The Netbook forum just assumes you know how to do that. I don't mind getting my hands dirty but I need a road map. In the meantime...I'm still Googling...

    Blessings,
    Wendy

  7. I should have mentioned this...I installed the card, inserted my AT&T SIM card and started the S10-3t but I get an "Error! Unauthorized card is plugged in. Power off and remove the card."

There was a more recent post about the 3G cards that don't require bios whitelist hacking. The Full Guide link on this post does mention that you must edit the whitelist.

The recent post that has the list of compatible 3G cards:
    http://www.lenovos103t.com/2010/09/add-3g-to-your-s10-3t.html

If you want to avoid the hassle of whitelist then sell or return that card and get one of the compatible cards.

  9. @Jesse I just wasted an entire day trying to figure out how to edit the BIOS for my Sierra Wireless MC8775 card...I'm just going to get a Huawei EM770W and be done with it...

Sometimes it works...and sometimes it don't...LOL

Thanks for your awesome site! It is my favorite for the S10-3t!

  15. I read all of this and ordered a EM770W from ebay for about $76.00 USD - it came in a couple of days... I installed it and the computer would not boot (said "unauthorized card") so I removed and let the computer boot to win7 desktop - I made sure no static electricity and i put the card in and windows recognized it! - SO I downland a hacked version of the bios that had the whitelist/whitelist check removed, flashed it and and voila! it booted up and huawei's mobile partner allowed me to create a profile, input t-mobile's apn and with my sim - I can access internet and even make/receive voice phone calls all from my s10-3t - One drawback - T-Mobile uses bands for 3G not supported by this modem - It would get 3G with At&t but not with T-Mobile - for 3G with TMO - u need the EM770J not the EM770W - 2G EDGE speeds is all the 770W will get with t-mobile - If you are on At&t, use the 770W!

  16. @FreeMoviesonthecurb Ebay sellers claim that this card has gps function however, i read in too many forums that people can not use gps function with any software. Have you used gps function, is it working? If so i am going to buy a em770w card immidiately :D
